Gypsy jazz specialists Chocolat in rehearsal.
A great night of dancing, live music and more is set for Saturday October 12th, at Knighton Community Centre, whenStack4 Sounds will be presenting a rescheduled event billed as “Electro Swing Vibe”.Aberystwyth-based gypsy jazz and swing band Chocolat will be playing live and burlesque dancer Oh! Carolina will be bringing to the evening what has been described as her “bohemian carny glamour”! In addition a line up of top DJs and VJs will be providing Electro Swing sounds, a musical genre fusing music from the Twenties to the Fifties with electronic dance music influences that is building a huge following across the country.
It’s hoped that the evening will include lessons in the right swing, jive and lindy-hop dance moves for the uninitiated, though if you’re not feeling energetic there should be plenty to keep the audience entertained.
It’s hoped that the audience will get in the vintage mood by coming along in 1920s to 50s attire to add to the swing-era mood and as well as a bar to 1.30am, home-made cakes are also promised!
