The Community Cohesion Steering Group will be showing a film, on Zoom of video, audio and written  clips of local people in Knighton and area talking about why they live here, what they like about the area, what could be made better and their friendship networks. This will be followed by a discussion chaired by the Reverend Kevin Dare.  The film has been edited by Rob Clough, a local film maker and post graduate student with music composed for the film by Camilla Saunders. We have also been able to include some children and young people. The film hopes to show the diversity of people living in the area and their common aspirations.

The film will be shown on Wednesday 15th April at 7.30 via Zoom.  To book your place, please contact Ceri Brown Knighton Community Centre on 07751 221487 , email knightoncomm@gmail.com or message the Community Centre on Facebook. The film will also be shown simultaneously on Facebook and Youtube and will be available afterwards. We hope to develop a website to show some of the individual videos in full and to organise further events to bring people together.

We are most grateful to local organisations for their support especially the Tower House Gallery, Knighton Museum, KINDA, Knighton and District Rotary Club, the Knighton Access Group, Knighton Library Friends, St Edwards Church, Knighton Baptist Church, the Little Black Sheep, the Knighton Spar, County Councillor Angelique Williams, Powys County Council library service and the Bevan Foundation. We also thank our funders the Welsh Government and Carmarthenshire County Council (who administer the programme on behalf of Powys) and Stuart Roper artist of Knucklas who contributed the beautiful poster. ‘
