Benji Kirkpatrick at The Comm.
Benji Kirkpatrick is well known to many local people, as part of a very talented family of musicians, including his mother, Sue Harris, who resides on the edges of Llangunllo, and who leads amongst many projects the singing group Whitton Voices.
Benji, who last performed at Knighton & District Community Centre a couple of years ago as a member of the award winning trio, Falstaff, is returning for a solo gig towards the end of September. He has performed in a variety of top folk groups over recent years, including Bellowhead and Steeleye Span, and is currently a member of the Seth Lakeman Band.
Playing a variety of stringed instruments, including guitar, bouzouki, mandolin and tenor banjo, Benji draws on a wide-range of material, including folk and rock, and will be showcasing his new album, due for release in early October, though it wouldn’t be surprising to find pre-release copies available on the night.
The concert takes place on September 28th, starting at 8p.m. Tickets , at £12,will be available on the door which opens at 7p.m., as does the bar.
