Role Title: Helping Hands Volunteer
Hours of work: As and when needed
Base: Knighton & District Community Centre (KDCC)
Accountable to: Louise Home – Informal Volunteering Officer
Summary of Volunteer Role
Under the supervision and guidance of the Informal Volunteering Officer the volunteer will in a
safe, confidential respectful manner carry out tasks that will enhance others’ lives when most
needed.
Responsibilities / Tasks:
• To attend a volunteer KDCC induction into volunteering session
• To attend any relevant training needed to fulfil role
• Customer service/task delivery (shall include but not be limited to):
• Dog walking
• Collecting a letter and posting it
• Delivering / returning library books
• Clearing garden debris
• Putting out recycling bins
• Driving a beneficiary to a Community event
• Delivering leaflets to the community
• Offering assistance during a flood call-out (in conjunction with Knighton Flood Group)
• Shopping (Via Knighton & District Community Support)
• Collecting prescriptions (Via Knighton & District Community Support)

Personal qualities / skills required:
• Willingness to undertake training
• Willingness to undertake a DBS check if role dictates

• Good listening and communication skills
• Friendly & patient attitude
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Reliable
