On May 12th the twice monthly Community Market is celebrating the arrival of spring by focusing attention on everything to do with gardening. As well as our usual selection of food and craft stalls with the emphasis on local and quality, well have plant stalls, tool and knife sharpening, woven willow and a childrens workshop with a garden theme. The market cafes music will even have a flowery theme! At the end of the market, there will be a screening of a talk byPam Warhurst on the “Incredible Edible” initiative that began in Todmorden in northern England and spread all over the world. It is hoped that the film will be followed by a discussion on how the idea of using spare space in our communities to grow food can be applied in Knighton.
As usual, the market runs from 9.30am to 12.30pm, with the film and discussion following immediately afterwards.
