First of all thanks to the small band of potential Community Centre helpers and committee members who turned out for our recent get together.Its quality, not quantity that counts.
The main subject of this post is to announce our upcoming Laughs and Curry Night on Saturday May 14th.In association with The Comedy Club Express, were presenting three highly rated talents – and serving up a curry supper – all for only £16.
Hosting the night is Sally-Anne Hayward, an experienced TV presenter and actor (well, shes been on Absolutely Fabulous, which makes her fine by me).Shell be introducing Ryan McDonnell from Belfast, who is described by Three Weeks, the reviews website and newspaper of the Edinburgh and Brighton festivals, as delivering “Apollo quality live comedy”.Headlining will be Gerry K, whose mantle piece must be groaning under the weight of all the comedy awards hes been winning.
Its an over 18s event (sorry, kids) and tickets are available from Spar Supermarket in Knighton or online fromskiddle.com– or if you want to book a group table and organise a gang, phone 01547 520871.If you want to be sure of getting your pre-show curry, please do book in advance: tickets bought on the door can only include a curry while it lasts!Doors will open at 7.00 and food will be served at 7.30, with the show kicking off at 8.30.And after the show well have a DJ on hand to get everyone on their feet dancing till midnight.
Were expecting this to be a great night and really hope that itll be just the start of something big for the Community Centre.
