This time it’s personal

Last Saturday there was a very special gig at the Centre with stunning live African music and non stop dancing. It was in fact a 60th birthday party for my good wife Karen, Chairperson of the centres management committee, fan of African sounds and lover of dancing .Invited guests were treated to a night of irresistible Zimbabwean rhythms from London-based band Harare.Judging by the reception the band received there is certainly an appetite in Knighton for more dance-orientated World Music and we certainly hope that the Comm will see more gigs like this in the year ahead.

Harare feature ex-Bhundu Boy Kudaushe Matimba and are shown here on the Comms temporary stage, which puts the band up close to the dancing and creates a warm atmosphere – even on a frosty December night!
