Office support volunteer
Under the supervision and guidance of the K&DCC administrator, provide reception and office support to staff, volunteers & customers
About the opportunity
Role Title: Office support volunteer
Hours of work: Flexible hours to suit volunteer 09.15 – 1pm sessions (Tuesday – Friday)
Base: Knighton & District Community Centre (K&DCC)
Accountable to: Ceri Brown
Responsibilities/Tasks
- To read & familiarise yourself with K&DCC volunteer policies and guidelines (located on K&DCC website – volunteer section/paper copies available)
- To read & sign the volunteer agreement
- To attend a volunteer induction
- To attend bi-monthly volunteer supervision group (not mandatory)
- To attend any relevant training needed to fulfil the role
- Customer service
- Answering telephone calls, and ensuring messages are relayed in a timely manner to relevant personnel
- Designing posters, flyers and leaflets
- Laminating posters, and distribution to local community
- Supporting staff in keeping the notice boards, and leaflet racks in a professional and engaging manner
- Maintaining office processes
- Supporting staff in any administration duties as required
Personal qualities/skills required
- Willingness to process DBS
- Good listening and communication skills
- Good understanding of IT systems, computer packages, emailing & social media
- Friendly & patient attitude
- Reliable
