Office support volunteer

Under the supervision and guidance of the K&DCC administrator, provide reception and office support to staff, volunteers & customers

About the opportunity

Role Title: Office support volunteer
Hours of work: Flexible hours to suit volunteer 09.15 – 1pm sessions (Tuesday – Friday)
Base: Knighton & District Community Centre (K&DCC)
Accountable to: Ceri Brown

 

Responsibilities/Tasks

  • To read & familiarise yourself with K&DCC volunteer policies and guidelines (located on K&DCC website – volunteer section/paper copies available)
  • To read & sign the volunteer agreement
  • To attend a volunteer induction
  • To attend bi-monthly volunteer supervision group (not mandatory)
  • To attend any relevant training needed to fulfil the role
  • Customer service
  • Answering telephone calls, and ensuring messages are relayed in a timely manner to relevant personnel
  • Designing posters, flyers and leaflets
  • Laminating posters, and distribution to local community
  • Supporting staff in keeping the notice boards, and leaflet racks in a professional and engaging manner
  • Maintaining office processes
  • Supporting staff in any administration duties as required

 

Personal qualities/skills required

  • Willingness to process DBS
  • Good listening and communication skills
  • Good understanding of IT systems, computer packages, emailing & social media
  • Friendly & patient attitude
  • Reliable
